Assistant Manager – Post Office & Gift Shop

Part-time – Permanent

We are a busy local Post Office and Gift Shop looking for a reliable, practical person to join our small team as an Assistant Manager.

This is a hands-on role supporting the day-to-day running of the business alongside Anna, who manages the operation.


About the role

The work is varied and covers both Post Office and Shop duties. Some periods are busy and others quieter, but there is always useful work to be done.

Post Office duties

  • Serving customers
  • Handling cash and stock accurately
  • End-of-day reconciliation
  • Ordering Post Office stock
  • Handling parcel services for a range of carriers

Shop duties

  • Keeping the Shop, Post Office and staff areas clean, tidy and well organised
  • Merchandising greeting cards
  • Meeting card representatives
  • Stock control and placing orders
  • General organisation and housekeeping

Hours

  • 3.5 days per week
  • 3 weekday shifts of 8 hours, typically 8:30am–5:00pm or 9:00am–5:30pm, with a 30-minute break
  • Alternate Saturday mornings (9:00am–12:30pm)

About you

Previous Post Office or retail experience is helpful but not essential. Full training will be provided.
